The best websites for machine embroidery: digitizing software, design files, thread and stabilizer.
23 sites in 6 categories
Machine embroidery uses a computerised embroidery machine that stitches a design file. Check which file format your machine reads (for example PES for Brother and Baby Lock, JEF for Janome, DST for many commercial machines) before buying designs.
You will also need embroidery thread, stabilizer suited to your fabric and a hoop that fits the design size. Free designs from Urban Threads and Designs by JuJu are a good way to test your setup.
To make your own designs, try the free Ink/Stitch extension for Inkscape, or paid programs such as Hatch or Embrilliance.
